Good Morning and Happy Saturday! I hope you get a few minutes to relax with a hot cup of coffee or tea and enjoy this weeks sampling of blog-y goodness. And yes, “blog-y” is a word. I know by the absence of a squiggly red line underneath.

Kisses and Kiddos

Best Friends - The Generous Wife talks about how important the friendship part of marriage is. A great reminder to cultivate friendship with your spouse.

Realistic Homekeeping Expectations - Not to be all self-absorbed or anything, but I’m pretty much convinced that this post from The Confident Mom was written specifically for me. The grace and reality check in this article were so refreshing, and there are a couple links in there to similar posts.

Be All There - I get easily distracted, especially by trying to plan out every detail of the future, so this reminder from The Romantic Vineyard was really helpful to me.

Jordan Almond Bluebirds – Sugarbelle takes us on a Sweet Adventure with a step-by-step tutorial for creating these perfectly adorable little birdies.

Salisbury Steak, Mashed Potatoes, and Peas - The Pioneer Woman gives her take on this classic comfort food meal, complete with beautiful photos.

Meyer Lemon Curd-Swirled Cheesecake Bars - Citrus-y, spring-y, cheesecake-y goodness in bar form. Sugarcrafter’s recipe for these treats look delicious.

Cheddar Popovers - I always thought you needed a special pan to make popovers, but this recipe from So Tasty, So Yummy uses a muffin tin. These look so great, I can’t wait to try them.

Funfetti Gooey Butter Cake - The Cookbook Queen has discovered the only thing that could possibly improve a decadent gooey butter cake: Sprinkles.

Just for Fun and Giggles

DIY Butterfly Mobile - My crafting skills are pretty much non-existant but this project showcased over at the Epbot blog is gorgeous. And the detailed instructions make me think I could actually succeed at making my own. Or maybe I could succeed at finding someone with crafting talent to make one for me. Either way, I want (read: MUST HAVE) one of these for Little Lady’s room.

And yes, I realize this final giggle is excessively geeky, but who could resist a Calvin-and-Hobbes/Firefly mash-up? Not me:

Happy St. Patrick’s Day! Why not celebrate with some (green food coloring added) homemade pancakes and syrup? And if you need extra inspiration, you’re in luck! This week’s blog roundup includes some more Irish-themed posts.

Kisses and Kiddos

Showing Honor - This post from The Romantic Vineyard has some great advice about speaking well of your spouse, both in private and in public. It’s a great tie into this next post. . .

What’s Grace Like? - . . .which is a list Pastor Mark Driscoll made about the good qualities of his wife, Grace. I love this idea, and I plan on making a similar list about Big Man. I think such a project will be a blessing for both of us.

Sex after Kids: 17 Ways to Make it Happen - An excellent set of honest, practical tips from Sheila over at To Love, Honor and Vacuum.

8 Ways to Protect Your Children from Sexual Abuse – It’s sad that the world is such that this article is needed, but this list from The Resurgence is absolutely important for every parent.

Chocolate Oatmeal Moon Pies - Annie’s Eats has this recipe for a decadent homemade version of the classic convenience store treat.

Hidden Gold Rainbow Cupcakes - These beautiful and totally creative cupcakes from The Cookbook Queen are perfect for St. Patrick’s Day.

Homemade Irish Cream - Irish Cream liquer is pretty much a requirement for St. Patrick’s Day and Alaska Mom has a recipe for making your own!

Mint Chocolate Chip Bailey’s Milkshake - And you can use that homemade Irish Cream to make this grown up and green shake from the ladies over at That’s What We Said.

Crispy Gnocchi with Basil Pesto - Finally, if you want something green that isn’t a dessert, you can try this yummy-looking pasta dish over at Two Peas & Their Pod

Just for Fun and Giggles

Things Kids Say in Church - This little story over at Stuff Christians Like is funny, sweet, and beautiful all at once. I’m looking forward to having “what my kids said in church” stories of my own when my Little Ones get a bit older.

A Striped Silhouette - The Remodeled Life has a step-by-step instructions for a really cool, Pinterest-inspired DIY art project.

And here’s a final bit of humor for y’all:

St. Patrick had quite a day

It’s Saturday morning! And it’s finally starting to feel like Spring (around here, at least). Celebrate the weekend with some chocolate chip muffins and enjoy this week’s blog-y roundup.

Defeat Overspending, From the Inside Out - Becoming Minimalist’s post makes some excellent points to consider in the fight against rampant consumerism and overspending.

Make it Your Own “Super Tuesday” - This is a really fun idea from The Romantic Vineyard for an at home “date night.” Even though Super Tuesday has already passed, you can still use the ideas here for a great time with your spouse.

Storing your Sexy Stuff - This post from Hot, Holy and Humorous is a perfect mix of practical suggestions and hilarious writing.

Treat Your Husband Like a Guinea Pig - Great advice from The Generous Wife (as usual) plus a cute picture of a guinea pig. Win and Win.

Four-Cheese Cheese Burgers - I love cheese (read: turn me loose in a fancy cheese shop and I could easily spend my life savings) so these burgers over at Pink Parsley look awesome.

Biscoff Monkey Bread - So, I must not be a very good foodie blogger because I haven’t yet tried Biscoff Spread which is apparently THE THING right now in the food-blog-world. But I just might have to cave and try it because this recipe from Sugarcrafter looks amazing.

Baked Lemon Risotto - I never knew you could make risotto in a way that doesn’t require 45 minutes of stirring a pan on a hot stove. I’ll definitely be trying this recipe from Joy the Baker.

Israeli Couscous Salad with Roasted Asparagus, Artichokes, and Spinach – This grain salad over at Two Peas & Their Pod seems fresh and light and perfect for springtime.

Brown Sugar Cupcakes with Peanut Butter Brown Sugar Frosting – And finally, you can balance out those light spring flavors and green veggies with these decadent and sugary treats from How Sweet It Is.

Just for Fun and Giggles

Now That’s a Bad Day – Yep, another Cake Wrecks post, this time with cakes for all those less-than-celebratory occasions. Trust me, you’ve never seen cakes like this before.

DIY Tie Dye Crayons - The ladies over at That’s What We Said have this great tutorial for giving new life to the well-worn and/or broken down crayons.

And if you have ever had your phone’s auto-correct feature change your text message into something you didn’t mean to say, you’ll appreciate this comic:

mobile phone texting autocorrect - Get Behind Me, Auto Correct

P.S. I keep forgetting to tell y’all that I’ve given in to the addiction that is Pinterest. You can follow my food-y, home-y, girl-y, and geek-y pinning with the button the side bar, or by clicking here.

Enjoy your weekend!
