Good Morning! I hope you are enjoying your summer so far. I’d like to ask for your prayers about the wildfires here is Colorado. There are many people evacuated and there is so much destruction already. Please pray for God’s peace and protection on those affected and those who are fighting the fire.  Thank you.

Here are some great blog posts from this week.

Kisses and Kiddos

Hold That Line - The Generous Wife has a great post about the importance of keeping boundaries in place around your marriage.

The De-Masking of Prince Charming - Yes, this subject has been covered before in countless articles. But it is rare to see such a healthy and Biblical perspective like the one displayed in this post from The Romantic Vineyard.

Parents Don’t Have to be Perfect- This post from To Love, Honor, and Vacuum has an excellent list of reality checks and a lot of grace for parents struggling under the (false) expectation of perfection.

Eli the Encourager – I love this post from mamacravings about appreciating a little one’s talent for encouraging.

Cooking with Cast Iron - This Art of Manliness post is a great overview of cast iron pans: how to cook with them, season them, clean them, and care for them.  There are even a couple recipes included!

Pulled Pork Sandwiches with Cherry Barbecue Sauce - The Foodie Bride brings this recipe for homemade sandwich that looks to die for. While I’m not big on cherries, I bet this sauce could convince me otherwise.

Patriotic Summer Berry Cake - This cake from Bakingdom is drop-dead gorgeous and full of fresh berries. Amazing.

Strawberry Lemonade Slushies- Only 4 ingredients to this frozen non-alcoholic treat from That’s What We Said. I think I need to make these as soon as possible.

Just for Fun and Giggles

Along Came Polly- I was cracking up reading this post from The Meat and Potatoes of Life. The pictures alone are priceless.

How to Frame Your Bathroom Mirror - This great step-by-step tutorial over at A Step In the Journey has easy instructions and great before and after photos. This seems like a great weekend project for adding some character to a boring mirror.

I couldn’t resist a grammar related funny:

Good Morning and Happy Saturday! Here’s this week’s post roundup.

Kisses and Kiddos

Does you Spouse Do His/Her Fair Share - There is a lot of wisdom in this Assume Love post about measuring your spouse’s contribution. It really is a no-win game to play.

Teaching Children to Pray - This post from The Confident Mom is full of practical advice and lots of encouragement. I love listening to Little Man pray before bed, as he thanks God for everything he can think of.

How to Preserve a Husband- Check out this cute poem posted on the Victory Homemaking blog.

Crumb Cake Muffins with Creamy Espresso Filling - You really can’t go wrong with crumb topping and coffee flavor, and these muffins from the vanilla sugar blog look perfect.

Artichoke Bruschetta - The Girl Who Ate Everything shares a recipe for this simple appetizer. I think it looks like a perfect accompaniment to a glass of wine for an at home date with Big Man.

Quinoa Salad with Watermelon and Feta - I love the watermelon and feta combination, so even though I’m a little scared of quinoa, this dish from Annie’s Eats might get me to reconsider.

Homemade Fudgesicles - This recipe from AlaskaMom looks yummy and super simple. It sounds like a great project for this weekend, as the weather here is getting hot.

Just for Fun and Giggles

Bubble Wrap Bracelet- I didn’t know bubble wrap could be used for anything other than shipping and stress release, but this craft from EPBOT is really cool.

Rainbow Bubble Snakes – Honestly, a lot of those “Crafts to do with your kids” are way beyond my skill level. But this one from Housing a Forest looks simple enough even for me, and it uses regular household items! Win.

And just for giggles, there’s this:

Enjoy your weekend!

Good Morning! Here’s this week’s post roundup!

Kisses and Kiddos

We Are Far Too Easily Pleased - Yet another inspiring and challenging post from Becoming Minimalist.

The 1 Lie The Devil Always Tells - I don’t link to theology posts that often but this one from Stuff Christians Like (this one is a serious post) was so excellent I had to include it. This is Biblical truth in a down-to-earth post that really spoke to me.

The 5 Disciplines of a Successful Vacation- Great list from The Romantic Vineyard, and very timely as we move into summer vacation season.

Yumminess

Fig, Prosciutto, and Goat Cheese Pizza - When it comes to pizza, I’m usually a cheese-and-pepperoni girl, but sometimes I like something a little more adventurous, and this pizza from My life as a Mrs. sounds fantastic.

Grilled Pineapple Guacamole - Grilled pineapple and avocados? I’m afraid to make this dip from Annie’s Eats because I know if I do I will probably eat all of it in a day.

Chocolate Peanut Butter Torte - Big Man loves the chocolate-peanut butter combo, and I know once he sees a picture of this dessert from Cook Like a Champion, it will be on the “Please make soon” list. That’s OK, I like peanut butter and chocolate too!

Virgin Strawberry Daiquiris - Check out this beautiful mocktail from the ladies of That’s What We Said.

Just for Fun and Giggles

Fathers Day Ideas- The ladies of The Letter 4 have this great roundup of non-girly crafts the kids can help make and give Dad for Father’s Day.

Six Ways to Show Dad You Care - And if you aren’t up to making any of those crafts, you can just buy Dad a cake. Just make sure it doesn’t look like any of these Wrecks.

And a geeky funny. This is so true!

Enjoy your weekend!
