So, I’m actually a week and a half late on this post because it’s been busy around here. But I finally had time to make this awesome drink. This week’s PPQ recipe was hosted by the Foodie Bride, so you can find her take on the recipe here.
Guanabana is a fruit found in the Latin American countries. I was able to find the guanabana nectar in the ethnic foods aisle of my Safeway store, but only after I stuck out at Whole Foods, Target, and Kroger. The one I found was the Jumex brand, but I believe there is also a Goya brand. Either way, it’s totally worth the work to find the nectar to make this drink. I really like margaritas, but usually I’m too lazy to do anything more than mix a margarita base with tequila. Well, that changes now, because this was SO much better! These cocktails are fruity and sweet, but not so much that the tequila is drowned out. I’d highly recommend these for any summertime party, or even just a quiet Friday night on the couch with a good movie.

Guanabana Nectar Margaritas
- 1/4 cup fresh lime juice
- 1/4 cup fresh lemon juice
- 3/4 cup tequila
- 3 Tbs. Grand Marnier
- 1 Tbs. powdered sugar
- 1/4 cup guanabana nectar
Mix all ingredients in a cocktail shaker with crushed ice. Use a lime wedge to moisten the rims of your glasses and dip in sugar. Serve up the cocktail over crushed ice. Enjoy!
