House Update #21: Stained Logs

Yes, I’m way overdue with this update, considering we started staining the logs over a month ago.  But there’s a lot of wood to sand and stain! Seriously, it’s a LOT. While we have had so much help from family and friends, it still takes a while, especially when some work days had to be postponed due to rain.  That said, the outside logs are all stained (with 2 coats!) and the inside of the house is nearly all sanded and ready for the clear coat. The next big staining projects are the window and door trim, and the deck railing. Big Man has been spending a lot of time covered in sawdust and wood stain, and I know he will be so glad once this step is finished. Here are some pictures of the newly-stained exterior.  We are so happy with how the color came out!

A couple other things have been completed: The fascia is installed on the roof edges, and the second floor windows in the great room have been installed.

Thanks to everyone for following along, helping us work, and keeping us sane with encouragement and prayers!
